Living with Kryden.

Install

Kryden Agent is available for macOS (Apple Silicon, macOS 12 or newer) and Windows (Windows 10 or newer). The downloads page lists the current version, file sizes, release notes, and SHA-256 checksums for every installer.

Only install Kryden from an official Kryden domain. Updates arrive through the app itself once installed.

First launch

There is no tour and no checklist. First launch is four quiet moments:

1. Open Kryden Agent The window opens to the glance — Kryden's calm report of what's alive. On a fresh install it will be honest: nothing needs you yet.
2. Connect your AI account Kryden works through your existing ChatGPT subscription. Follow the guided sign-in; Kryden confirms when it's ready to accept work.
3. Hand over one real goal Type it on the glance in plain language — the outcome you want, anything Kryden should know, and any boundaries. The report recedes and the work begins in the same window.
4. Come back later That's the point. Close the window, live your life. When you return, the glance tells you what finished, what's still moving, and what's waiting on you.

The glance

Every time you open Kryden, you land on the glance — a short report in Kryden's own voice. It has at most three sections, and each appears only when it has something to say:

• Needs you — decisions and approvals waiting on you. These never expire and never clear themselves; an obligation stays until you resolve it.
• Working — loops Kryden is moving right now, marked with a slow breathing dot instead of a spinner.
• Finished — work that completed since you last looked. Each item waits until you've seen it, then steps aside. Old completions fade out after about a week either way.

Hover over any row and a quiet preview of the outcome appears to the right. Click it to open the full loop. And when nothing at all is alive, the glance says so plainly — "Nothing needs you. I'll find you if that changes." — rather than padding the screen with old work.

Loops

Kryden has one core object: the loop — a single thread of intent. Ask for something and a loop begins; it's either working, waiting on you, or finished. The three sections of the glance aren't three lists to manage — they're the same object in three states.

Inside a loop you'll see the conversation, plus the work itself surfacing inline: file changes appear as reviewable diff cards, and evidence appears beside the thread when a decision needs it. One affordance takes you home — Back to glance, top-left, or just press Escape.

Summon (⌘K)

There is no sidebar and no menu tree. Press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K on Windows) anywhere and everything is on one searchable plane. The first character you type chooses the mode:

Search everything — every loop you've ever run, briefs, memory, routines, and tailoring, grouped and ranked.

/

Do something: start fresh, open briefs, open memory, open the library, open routines.

@

Bring something in: pull an existing piece of work into what you're doing.

If your search matches nothing, press enter and it becomes a message to Kryden. Summon and conversation are the same gesture — there are no dead ends.

The surfaces

Beyond the glance and the conversation, Kryden keeps a small set of quiet surfaces. All of them are reachable through Summon, and all of them open in the same window — nothing pops over your work.

The glance

The first screen, every time. Not a menu, not a chat history — a report. Three sections appear only when they have something to say: Needs you, Working, and Finished.

Loops

Everything you give Kryden becomes a loop — one thread of intent that is working, waiting on you, or finished. Open a loop to see the full conversation and its work; leave it and it keeps its place.

Summon

Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) anywhere. Type to search everything — work, memory, routines, tailoring. Type / to do something, @ to bring something in. If nothing matches, press enter to ask Kryden directly.

Briefs

The written results of scheduled work: what your routines found and did while you were away, readable in a minute.

Memory

What Kryden remembers about you and your work, written down where you can read it. You can correct any memory or tell Kryden to forget it — right there on the page.

Library

Files, links, and artifacts Kryden collected or produced along the way, kept findable instead of buried in old threads.

Routines

Recurring work — checks, briefs, follow-ups — that runs on a schedule without you re-asking. Results land in Briefs and on the glance.

Tailoring

The agreements between you and Kryden, on one page in plain language: appearance, writing style, permissions, your AI account, archived work, and the app version.

Example requests

You talk to Kryden the way you'd brief a capable person: the outcome, the useful background, and any boundaries. No syntax to learn.

Routines

Routines are for work that should come back on its own: the Monday brief, the nightly check, the follow-up you'd otherwise forget. Ask for one in plain language — "every weekday morning, check X" — or manage them on the Routines surface.

• Name what Kryden should check and how often it should run.
• Say what counts as important enough to surface on the glance.
• Results land in Briefs — read them on your schedule, not the routine's.
• Keep credentials and private links in the app's secure setup flow, never in the routine's instructions.
• Revisit routines occasionally so stale instructions don't keep running. They're one ⌘K away.

Tailoring

Kryden doesn't have a settings maze. Tailoring is one page, top to bottom, written as agreements rather than switches:

Appearance

Themes (including Atelier, the signature porcelain-and-champagne skin), light and dark, and language.

Preferences

How Kryden writes to you, and where it gets your local time.

Permissions

The promises: Kryden asks before powerful actions, keeps sensitive text hidden, and treats private links carefully.

AI account

Where your ChatGPT account is connected, and how to reconnect it.

Archived work

Recently deleted loops, restorable until they age out.

About

The version you're running and update details.

You can also just ask — Summon understands questions like "how should Kryden look?" or "can Kryden take powerful actions?" and takes you to the right agreement.

Approvals

Kryden can do powerful things — change files, drive the browser, run commands, schedule work. That's exactly why actions that matter pause first. Kryden explains what it wants to do in plain language and waits for your decision. A paused action appears under Needs you on the glance and stays there until you answer.

Your answer can be more than yes or no: "yes, but skip the third one," or "no — use a safer approach instead" both work. The approval level itself is an agreement in Tailoring.

Security

• Keep secrets in the app's credential flow, never in messages, files, screenshots, or routine instructions.
• Review actions that can change files, send data, use credentials, run commands, or schedule work — Kryden pauses for these by default.
• Only install Kryden builds from downloads.kryden.ai or another official Kryden channel, and check the published checksums if you want certainty.
• Kryden explains what it wants to do in plain language before doing it. If an explanation doesn't make sense, say no — that answer is always safe.
