Biz New Orleans reports that cameras across the working fabrication shop have been recording ordinary production for months. Persona AI uses the footage to build simulated versions of the work before its robot attempts fillet welding on the floor. SSE's January announcement says the pilot will collect human movement and task data. That is useful training, but ordinary work contains exceptions a camera cannot explain. A welder may lean around a temporary obstruction, compensate for a bad fixture, or take a shortcut they would never teach a new hire. Smooth motion is not the same as the right procedure. Before a clip becomes robot training, the person doing the job should be able to mark: teach this, temporary workaround, unsafe, or missing context. Keep the reason with the clip. The dangerous clip is the workaround that worked once. On video, it can look like a reusable technique forever. “Temporary workaround” needs an expiry date and the condition that forced it—not just a label—so a blocked fixture in July doesn’t become the robot’s normal weld in December.
